Tick Blip · Last updated 26 September 2026
Tick Blip is a game. It keeps an account so that your balance, your history and your place in a league survive closing the app, and it collects nothing beyond what that needs. You do not have to sign up: the app starts you as a guest the first time it opens, and you can link an account later if you want to play on another phone. There is no advertising in it, no analytics service watching you play, and nothing about you is sold or shared for marketing.
What is collected
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| This phone | A random key the app makes the first time it opens and keeps in the phone's secure storage, and the identifier your phone gives this app (not the advertising identifier). They are how the app knows it is you without asking you to sign in. We store the key only as a hash and the identifier only scrambled with a secret of ours. |
| Game Center or Google Play Games, if you use them | Your player identifier for this app, confirmed by Apple or Google, so that the same player finds you on a new phone. Nothing else from your game account. |
| Apple or Google account, if you link one | The identifier Apple or Google gives this app for you, and the email address they share with us (with Apple this can be a private relay address). Only used to sign you in, and to show you which account you linked. |
| Email address, if you link one | It is how you sign in with it, and where we write to you if we need to. |
| Password, if you link an email | Stored only as a cryptographic hash. The password itself is never written down or logged, and cannot be read back by anybody, including us. |
| Display name | Shown to the other players in your league room. Choose accordingly. |
| What you do in the game | Predictions, orders, settlements, balance movements, levels, Points, streaks and achievements. This is the game itself: the balance on your screen is the sum of these, and it has to be explainable. |
| Lessons and journal notes | Your progress through the lessons, and anything you write in the journal. Nobody else sees the journal. |
| Notifications | What happened while you were away. |
| Device sign-in details | The kind of device a session was started on, so you can recognise your own sessions and end ones you do not. |
| Push token, if you turn push on | One per device, so a notification can reach the phone. Removed when you turn push off or sign out. |
| Purchases | What was bought and what it granted, with the receipt the App Store signed. That receipt is the only proof of what Apple actually sold, which matters if a purchase is ever disputed. |
Not collected: your location, your contacts, advertising identifiers, a fingerprint of your device, or anything at all about what you do outside this app. No card number or billing address ever reaches us. Apple takes the payment and tells us only which product was bought.
What other players can see
Your display name, your level badge and the ring on it, and the figures from the season you are both playing: your Points, how many predictions settled, how many were right, and your return for that season.
Nothing else. Not your balance, not what you hold now, not your individual predictions, not your email address, and nothing from any season but the one being shown.
What leaves us
Push notifications. If you turn push on, the notification's title and text, with a token identifying your device, go to Expo's push service and from there to Apple to reach your phone. That is the same text the app's inbox shows, what settled and what filled, and it carries no balance, no email and no name.
Signing in with Apple or Google. When you link or sign in with one, Apple or Google asks you to confirm and then hands the app a signed statement of who you are, which our server checks. If you delete your account, we tell Apple to revoke Tick Blip's access to your Apple ID.
Game Center and Play Games. The app asks Apple or Google to confirm your player identifier, and our server checks that confirmation with them. Nothing about your play is sent to either.
Purchases. Apple handles the payment and tells us what was bought. Our server checks Apple's signature on the receipt to confirm it is genuine. Nothing is sent back to Apple to do that.
Email. We write to you only when there is something about your account you need to know. Today that is one thing: a message when we give you Super Blip. It goes to the email on your account, if you have one, through our own mail server, and it has no tracking in it: no pixels, no tracked links.
Market prices come from Polymarket's public data, to us. Nothing about you goes the other way, and no prediction you make in this app reaches Polymarket or any exchange.
That is the whole list. There is no analytics provider, no advertising network, and no data broker.
How long it is kept
Your account and its history are kept while the account exists. Some things are cleared sooner because they stop being useful: short-lived sign-in tokens, the record of whether a push was delivered, and the minute-by-minute market data behind the charts.
Delete your account and every session on it ends at once. Your email address, display name, password, journal notes and push tokens are removed, along with the linked Apple, Google, Game Center and Play Games identifiers and this phone's key and identifier.
The play history stays: predictions, orders, settlements, balance movements, levels, Points and league placings. Every balance in the game has to stay explainable, including the balances of the players you shared a league with, so these records are kept. They are no longer connected to anything that identifies you.
Purchase records are kept too, because Apple's records and ours have to agree if a payment is ever queried.
Getting your data, and deleting it
A copy of your data. Write to [email protected] and ask for it, from the address on your account if it has one; a guest can include the account id shown at the bottom of Settings instead. You will be sent everything held about your account. There is no export button in the app.
Deleting your account. In the app: Settings, then Delete my account. There is no waiting period and nothing to ask us for. If your account has a password you confirm with it; if not, you type DELETE.
A forgotten password. There is no password reset in the app. If you also linked Apple or Google, sign in with that instead. Otherwise write to [email protected] from the address on your account and a person will help you back in.
Security
Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Everything between the app and the server travels over TLS. Sign-in sessions can be ended from Settings, on every device at once if you need to, and are ended automatically when a password changes.
Children
Tick Blip is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who sees it, the app will say so rather than quietly updating this page. The date at the top is the last time it changed.
